Artifact 1/2 “DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller” – Continue left out onto the small island, defeat the three enemies then pull up the wires to find this artifact. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – Keep climbing and after going off two bounce pads you’ll be at the very top of the plaza, where you can find this puzzle piece. The follow-up to the original PS VR uses headset-mounted cameras rather than lights, and has a vibration motor.
Head up to where the checkpoint is, and on the raised platform behind the pink plant is a small outcropping. These four bots are completely optional, so if you don’t have the time (or the storage space to redownload Astro’s Playroom), know that they won’t give you much of an advantage in Astro Bot. Bots are used to access new areas and puzzles, and since you’ll encounter most of the 300 bots in the sequel without too much effort, you can unlock what you need without what Astro’s Playroom can give you. I went into this game expecting it to be nothing more than a quick tech demo, I was very wrong. What I was meet with was a platformer where you played as a charming little robot in a world that has a better art style then most modern games. Astro’s Playroom is the perfect game to play first to kick off the PlayStation 5 generation. It’s a fluid and fun 3D platformer sure, but it being built around showing off what the DualSense controller can add to gaming Is what really starts to make it special.
Astro’s Playroom first launched in 2020 as a pre-installed PS5 exclusive that highlighted the DualSense controller’s features. The platformer also paved the way for the successful Astro Bot, Team Asobi’s hit game from 2024 that earned numerous Game of The Year awards. While Astro Bot may have eclipsed Astro’s Playroom, it seems developers have not forgotten about the adorable Astro’s first adventure, as the robot’s first game recently received new content.
Puzzle Piece 2/4 – Just after the next checkpoint, there are a bunch of explosive enemies on the ground you can light using your ship thrusters. When they explode they destroy the ground, revealing an area with this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Directly to the left of the first checkpoint there is a hole you can drop down with a bunch of coins and this puzzle piece in the middle. Artifact 2/2 “DUALSHOCK 2 Controller” – When you reach the rocket ship, stay on the ground level and run to the back of the platform. Knock the pile of colored crates out of the way to find a wire pull, which reveals this artifact. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – After jumping past the first cannon, this puzzle piece is to the left of the handholds above.
It’s a very easy list and you’ll have a lot of fun obtaining this Platinum. Unlocking the Platinum Trophy in Astro Playroom is an achievable and enjoyable journey‚ taking approximately 5-7 hours. The game is designed to be accessible‚ with no missable trophies‚ allowing a stress-free experience. Completing the story‚ collecting all puzzle pieces‚ artifacts‚ and rescuing special bots are the main requirements.

From here you can jump back down to cloud blowing the rotating platform, with the Piposaru container nearby. To do this, continue through the level until you get to the part where you have to ride on a PS1 / PS1 controller cloud.

Whilst initially awestruck by the game, it didn’t take very long to see why Sony’s catchy ‘For the Players’ tagline is an admirable slogan built on a history of gaming icons. This game is incredibly well-made; the care put into it is visible in every corner; but as it is it was not made for people like me.
The game’s also loaded with hidden items, which will appeal to players who like to collect trophies or find more to do once they finish a level. But the joy of Astro’s Playroom, while largely focused on its use of the new controller, is also thanks to Team Asobi’s dedication to turning this pack-in into a mini-museum of PlayStation history. All of them are put on display to be looked at or hit to produce sound effects, pop open disc trays, and more. For a free game that comes with the PlayStation 5, one largely designed just to showcase all the bells and whistles of Sony’s next-gen DualSense controller, Astro’s Playroom is surprisingly fun. It’s not just a great toybox to experience the DualSense’s haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, microphone, and more, it also delivers the best proof-of-concept pack-in I’ve played since Wii Sports. This is a truly joyous homage to PlayStation history, as well as an experimental platformer I can only hope to see turned into a larger experience during the PS5’s lifetime.
Four profiles can be loaded onto the controller itself, letting them be taken to other PS5 systems. This also allows the currently-selected profile to be used on other platforms, such as a PC. The same as the previous artefact, but specifically designed to be held by a right hand! This version has the Circle, X and Options buttons, while the left-hand controller from before has the Square, Triangle and Create buttons.
The soundtrack is catchy and playful just as you would expect from a platformer and the 3D audio really helps add to the immersion. The speaker on the DualSense controller plays a lot of sounds out of it which is something I always enjoy and each one is done really well here to help add to the experience. The trophy hunters out there will even find 46 trophies here including a Platinum.
Puzzle Piece 2/4 – After the second red button where you then jump up the two metal sloped platforms, this puzzle piece is in the top left corner of the area before hitting the third red button. You’ll have to jump back to the left to it from the wooden platform on the right. The DualSense Wireless Controller is PlayStation’s most feature-filled controller. Removing only the light bar and renaming the Share Button to the Create Button, it features new haptic feedback motors in the handles for much more precise vibrations. The triggers were redesigned into “adaptive” triggers that provide force feedback during gameplay. You also find a monkey suit for climbing and a fun nod to Marble Madness that must have been suggested by, or intended as homage to, PlayStation 5 architect Mark Cerny who created the original game.
